TASTE and SIPS BC Wine Country at the Okanagan Spring Wine Festival

(KELOWNA, BC) The Okanagan Wine Festivals returns this June with three weeks in wine country you don’t want to miss. There is no better time to visit BC Wine Country than in June. Just before the summer season kicks into high gear, you can explore all your favourite wineries and discover hidden treasures. The Okanagan Spring Wine Festival will focus on a TASTE and SIPS series of events throughout the Okanagan Valley - from June 2 through the 23.

The official launch of the Okanagan Spring Wine Festival will take place at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre on Friday, June 7, following the British Columbia Wine Awards private reception, where the 2024 BC TOP 50 and the Wine of the Year will be announced. The wines were judged by an esteemed panel of wine experts the previous week, and the BC TOP 50 wines will be making their first public appearance as Valley First presents BC TOP 50 Grand Tasting.

The Okanagan Spring Wine Festival sees the return of the TASTE Series, with regional programming taking place from North to South. The TASTE Series of Exclusive Experiences includes carefully curated events in various locations. The TASTE Series will launch with the Naramata Bench Wineries Association on Sunday, June 2, followed by the District Wine Village on Saturday and Sunday, June 8 and 9.

Sandhill Wines in Kelowna will host a Rose-focused TASTE Series event on Thursday, June 13, and the series will wrap up with the Scenic Sip Wine Trail in Lake Country on Sunday, June 23. All TASTE Series events provide the guest with six experiences, each with a unique twist. A Designated Driver TASTE Series ticket is also available for $40.00.

NEW for 2024 will be two anchor events in the SIPS Series. The SIPS Series was successfully launched in winter 2024, and we are excited to see the program expand to spring 2024. Valley First presents SUMMER SIPS at Spirit Ridge Resort, which will take place on Saturday, June 8, in beautiful Osoyoos. Guests will experience an afternoon of BC wine tasting alongside culinary delights from The Bear, The Fish, The Root, and The Berry, with breathtaking views from the rooftop patio at the resort.

On the Festival’s final weekend, Destination SilverStar will partner with the Festival to present the Valley First SOLSTICE SIPS at SilverStar Resort on Saturday, June 22. The event will once again take us outdoors and into the picturesque village setting of SilverStar Resort in Vernon. SIPS guests will enjoy a showcase of BC wineries and live entertainment with a majestic mountaintop backdrop.

In addition to our signature events, our partners will host several special events throughout the Okanagan Valley. The Father’s Day BBQ and Blues at Nighthawk Vineyards in Okanagan Falls, in partnership with the Heart of Wine Country wineries and the Festival, is just one of the exciting programs that help to round out the month of events.
