What is GrapeTalks? 

A series of events dedicated to understanding the roots, teasing the palate and connecting the wine community. 

Topic: “Exploring Chardonnay”

Challenging the stereotype and elevating the misjudged grape. A conversation and tasting of different expressions of Chardonnay from the Valley and beyond. 

Event details: 

A tasting of 6 Chardonnays accompanied by a discussion about the grapes versatility, elegance and new found fame in the Okanagan. 

Host: Nikki Callaway, Winemaker - O’Rourke Family Estate

Nikki holds a Masters in Enology from the prestigious Université de Bordeaux and has viticulture and winemaking experience in various regions of France, including Beaujolais, the Loire, and multiple appellations in Bordeaux. Nikki returned to Canada 15 years ago to work in the Okanagan Valley, a region that was brand new to her at the time. Since then, she has specialized in northern valley fruit, including Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and aromatic whites. In March 2023, Nikki’s Chardonnay placed in the Top 10 at the prestigious Chardonnay du Monde competition.
